Plan ahead

Be sure to send out invitations far enough in advance before calendars book up, and try to prepare as much food as you can in advance so you don’t find yourself in a panic before guests start to arrive.

Set the Mood

A fire, candles and festive music (pre-made playlists) always lend a nice touch to create the perfect ambiance.

Back-up Supplies

Have easy to present extra food and beverages – baguettes, cheese, mixed nuts and bottled water.

Create a Buzz

Put one wine bottle in a brown bag and let everyone taste (1 oz) and guess the wine - a great conversation starter (and you can offer an unopened bottle of the mystery wine as a prize for the person with the best guess).

Designate a Wine Steward

Bestow upon the first guest to arrive the co-sommelier role to help you out. Show them your wines and discuss suggested food pairings. Hand them a corkscrew to keep as a thank-you gift.
