NPR Weekend Edition Host Scott Simon, along with Gary Vaynerchuk of Wine Library TV, bust the myth that Merlots are verboten, promulgated in the 2004 film Sideways. In the segment “Merlots Worth Sipping, Despite The Bad Rap,” which aired on Feb. 19, 2011, Vaynerchuk and Simon taste the Columbia Crest H3 Merlot, calling it “really nice” and “silky smooth.”
