Colorado Springs Gazette - August 08, 2011 2010 Grand Estates Riesling Columbia Valley
Since its opening 35 years ago, Columbia Crest perennially is recognized for providing outstanding value. It certainly is true of the 2010 Grand Estates ($11), which impressed me with its juicy apple and pear fruit delivered with lively acidity that balances a slightly honeyed sweetness.

A lot of wine for $11, this generous riesling leads with hints of fusel and pear. It feels ample and well built, with sweet, broad apple flavors to match twice-cooked pork.

Ripe and lively on a light frame, offering plenty of apricot and pear flavors against a nice line of acidity, which keeps this refreshing through the generous finish.
88 points - “Best Buy” - Wine Enthusiast - December 31, 2009 2008 Grand Estates Riesling Columbia Valley
Intensely aromatic, with a sharp, spicy entry, this off-dry Riesling could stand as a Washington classic, with apples and pears in abundance. There is a honeyed sweetness somewhat offset by juicy acids, and with its evocative spicy core it is distinctive in an ever-expanding lineup of Rieslings from Ste. Michelle Wine Estates.

Lightly sweet, with a resiny edge to the pear and green apple flavors lingering on the lively finish.
