Classic orchard notes as well as tropical features reach out from this complex release. Juicy pineapple flavors are joined by papayas, then give way to orange oil and Meyer lemon acidity to balance the sugar that’s finished with more apples. Food possibilities include group, halibut with a lime/papaya/pepper salsa or chicken alongside a pineapple-based chutney.

Harvest of this fruit began Aug. 15, the earliest on record, but the results were right on time. It’s reminiscent of Bubble Up with tangerine, citrus, but much more complex in tropical fruit, bananas, apples and delicious spice. The residual sugar (205%) is nicely balanced on the bright mid-palate with acidity. Enjoy as a cocktail, alongside a lettuce salad – incorporating grilled pears, Gorgonzola, toasted pine nuts with a light fruit vinaigrette – or a pork entrée with sautéed apples and onions.

This is the mid-tier Riesling for Columbia Crest, a sensational wine that captures everything that is distinctive about Washington fruit. Fragrant and loaded with floral aromatics, it carries persistent orange blossom and lemon candy scents and flavors into a lush midpalate that touches on tropical papaya and mango. The off-dry residual sweetness plumps it up but is mostly masked by the natural acids, keeping this very food-friendly.^
