4 stars - Restaurant Wine - February 01, 2009 2007 H3 Chardonnay Horse Heaven Hills

Full bodied and fruity in character, with toasty, oaky overtones. Long finish.

90 points - “Smart Buy” - Wine Spectator - January 05, 2009 2007 H3 Chardonnay Horse Heaven Hills

Vibrant and generous, with a spicy edge to the soft, ripe pear, cream and lime aromas and flavors, lingering on the expressive finish.

88 points - Wine Enthusiast - December 01, 2008 2006 H3 Chardonnay Horse Heaven Hills

Columbia Crest, Washington state’s premier producer of value wines, has introduced a fourth tier into its lineup. Dubbed H3, the wines focus on fruit from the Horse Heaven Hills AVA. The grapes have optimal acid, and the flavors are ripe but firm. The fruit is a bit lean, but tangy; and there is an underlying minerality that adds persistence.

“Washington Report: Recommended” - Wine Spectator - July 31, 2008 2006 H3 Chardonnay Horse Heaven Hills

And it's hard to beat the price-to-quality ratio of the Columbia Crest Chardonnay H3.

86 points - “Good Value” - Wine Advocate - July 01, 2008 2006 H3 Chardonnay Horse Heaven Hills

The 2006 H3 Chardonnay offers up toasty apple and pear aromas with a hint of tropical fruit in the background. Though short on depth and concentration, it is pleasant and a good value nonetheless.
