87 points - “Best Buy” - Wine Spectator - December 15, 2007 2003 Two Vines Merlot-Cabernet Columbia Valley

Light in texture, with an open weave to the silky raspberry and coffee flavors, finishing with welcome refinement.

87 points - “Best Value” - Wine Spectator - October 15, 2007 2003 Two Vines Merlot-Cabernet Columbia Valley

A gentle, open-textured red that has red berry and sweet red pepper flavors to glide over crisp tannins. Not a big wine, but has a sense of refinement.

“Best Buys: Red & Recommended” - Wine Press Northwest - October 01, 2007 2003 Two Vines Merlot-Cabernet Columbia Valley

On a blend like this, the dominant grape is named first. In this case, Merlot is the higher percentage. This affordable Bordeaux style red is from an extremely warm vintage and was built to ago on the way home from the store. It shows off appealing aromas of black berries, black cherries and even Red Delicious apple peel, followed by flavors of pomegranates, bright cherries and vanilla. It’s a gentle wine on the entry with moderate acidity, and mild tannins provide just enough backbone to pair this with pizza, meatloaf or grilled meats.
