92 points - Wine News - August 01, 2008 2004 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley

Dense crimson hue. Aromas of roasted coffee and rhubarb with light floral notes. Crisp entry with a big dollop of juicy cherry fruit and peppery oak-laced tannins. Tart cherry and blueberry nuances in a pretty finish with a silky tannin presence.

86 points - Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine - August 01, 2008 2004 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley

Less outgoing than the wine above but its equal in oaky richness, this one mixes its cherryish fruit with a surprising note of boysenberry in the aromas. It is rounded at entry before taking on a slightly edgy, almost acidy quality by the time it ends, and, while it does not quite ring the one star gong, it is likely to show well for the next few years.

92 points - “Recommended: Washington Report” - Wine Spectator - July 31, 2008 2004 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley

Columbia Crest, Ste. Michelle's bigger sister winery, does best with wines such as its Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley Reserve 2004, showing focused currant and plum floating over superfine tannins….

87 points - Wine Enthusiast - May 01, 2008 2004 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley

Though nicely styled, this does not quite feel like a reserve wine; it’s just too light. Flavors are well-defined, showing strawberry, raspberry and Bing cherry in equal proportions. The tannins are ripe and balanced, and there is a kiss of light chocolate on the finish. It does not have the power that you expect in a reserve.
