88 points - Wine Advocate - September 01, 2007 2004 Reserve Chardonnay Columbia Valley

The 2004 Chardonnay Reserve comes from vineyards in the Horse Heaven Hills AVA. It was barrel fermented and went through malolactic fermentation while spending 16 months in oak with lees stirring. The nose offers toast, butterscotch, baked apple, and pear aromas. That leads to a full-bodied Chardonnay with a supple, creamy texture, ripe flavors, and good length. Greater depth would have resulted in a higher score.

92 points - Wine News - August 31, 2007 2004 Reserve Chardonnay Horse Heaven Hills

Uplifting peach, banana and oak aromas. Accessible grilled pineapple and peach flavors with a hint of brown sugar. Lengthly, creamy finish with ripe fruit and toasted oak in harmony.

85 points - “Highly Recommended” - California Grapevine - May 01, 2007 2004 Reserve Chardonnay Horse Heaven Hills

Medium-light yellow; attractive, floral, green apple and white peach aroma with hints of pine and butterscotch; medium-full body; plush, slightly buttery, ripe peach flavors with a creamy mouthfeel and a touch of residual sugar, lingering aftertaste. ^

“Outstanding” - Wine Press Northwest - April 01, 2007 2004 Reserve Chardonnay Columbia Valley

Hand-picked estate grapes hand-stirred in 100% new Burgundian barrels begins to tell the story behind this Chardonnay that is among the Northwest’s best and most expensive. Dried pineapple, banana taffy and citrus form the aromatic base. Mix in big butterscotch, fresh toast and orange peel to build on the descrip!ors for the palate, which turns creamy in the middle. This is about as hedonistic as Chardonnay gets, so enjoy as a cocktail.

85 points - Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine - April 01, 2007 2004 Reserve Chardonnay Columbia Valley

More appealing in its aromas than it is on the palate, this wine exhibits appley, leesy and slightly minerally scents by way of nose but comes a cropper in its too quiet and somewhat dilute flavors. Medium-full bodied and a touch of soft in balance, it is not likely to win many friends at the price.^
