“Best Buy and Excellent Review” - Wine Press Northwest - April 01, 2007 2002 Two Vines Merlot-Cabernet Columbia Valley
One of the beauties of a blind judging is confirming the values, and this might be the best. Ray Einberger's assemblage of Merlot (52%), Cab Franc (28%) and Cab (20%) produces aromas of cinnamon, orange zest, strawberry and green peppercorns. Flowing in are flavors of blackberries and black cherries across a plush mid-palate of leather and chocolate. You should have no trouble finding this. Keeping it around is another matter.
89 points - “Best Buy” - Wine Enthusiast - November 15, 2006 2002 Two Vines Merlot-Cabernet Columbia Valley
How amazing it is to find a wine of this caliber, with some nice age on it, selling at this price. There is plenty of color, and scents of bramble, cherry, tobacco, ash, bark and smoke. In short, this is a party wine, smooth and delicious, with generous cherry, blueberry and raspberry fruit, ripe tannins and perfectly balanced acids. Put this into a blind tasting with some $30 Bordeaux blends from elsewhere, and you are sure to amaze your friends.

Strikes a wonderful balance between ripe currant and plum fruit on the one hand, and find acidity and a veil of polished tannins on the other, the flavors opening up beautifully on the long finish.

Smooth and velvety, with predominate notes of roasted green pepper and green olive, finished with just a touch of berry fruit.
“Best Buy” - Wine Press Northwest - December 01, 2002 2000 Two Vines Columbia Valley Merlot-Cabernet Columbia Valley
Doug Gore and his forces expertly blended Merlot (50 percent), Cabernet Franc (39) and Cabernet Sauvignon (11). There's a little oak to start with, soon followed by black currants and plums, vanilla and blueberries. A tanginess is soon replaced with jammy, opulent fruit in the middle. A touch of chalky tannins help create a chocolate/anise finish.
