87 points - “Best Buy” - Wine Enthusiast - June 01, 2002 1999 Two Vines Columbia Valley Merlot-Cabernet Columbia Valley
The blend is half Merlot, 35% Cabernet Franc and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon. A rich nose shows sweet, black cherry fruit; the wine has got big flavors that are nonetheless pretty, with soft, understated tannins and high acids. It adds up to a very accessible, delicious bottle of red.
85 points - Wine Spectator - May 31, 2002 1999 Two Vines Columbia Valley Merlot-Cabernet Columbia Valley
On the crisp side, with spicy oak and slight mushroom overtones around the firm blackberry flavors.
4 stars - Restaurant Wine - January 01, 2002 1999 Two Vines Columbia Valley Merlot-Cabernet Columbia Valley
...a full bodied, fruity wine (berries), with a mildly oaky finish.
1 grape clusters - “Excellent Value” - Northwest Palate - December 01, 2001 1999 Two Vines Columbia Valley Merlot-Cabernet Columbia Valley
Garnet color. Graham and plum fruit in the nose. Toasty, plummy flavors balance soft tannins into a long, juicy finish. Opulent, concentrated fruit style.
1 grape clusters - “Recommended” - Northwest Palate - July 31, 1999 1997 Two Vines Columbia Valley Merlot-Cabernet Columbia Valley
Inviting nose suggests berry and moch!. Soft on the palate and very drinable with light tannins. Berry fruit flavor hints at loganberry and raspberry.
