88 points - Wine Enthusiast - December 31, 2009 2007 Reserve Chardonnay Columbia Valley
Though Columbia Crest is widely available, the reserve tier is not. Just a few hundred cases of this reserve were made, done in an oaky, buttered popcorn style. Think California with more acidity.
86 points - Wine Advocate - July 01, 2008 2005 Reserve Chardonnay Horse Heaven Hills
The 2005 Chardonnay Reserve was barrel-fermented and went through malolactic fermentation. It spent 16 months in barrel with lees stirring. The nose is a bit more sophisticated but on the palate the wine comes off as slightly superficial because of the lack of depth.
Northwest Palate - June 01, 2008 2006 Reserve Chardonnay Columbia Valley
Opulent aromas of caramel and apple, coconut and hay, toast and vanilla make this nose particularly satisfying. Rich and creamy on the palate with lees-accented flavors of apple and pear with undercurrents of coconut and lemon curd. This is a big, oaky style of Chardonnay, but also perfectly balanced with enough acidity and fruit to complement the butter and wood. The wine finished bright and fruity. A perfect pairing for seafood chowder.
“Recommended” - Wine Press Northwest - May 01, 2008 2005 Reserve Chardonnay Columbia Valley
Hand-picked estate fruit from the Horse Heaven Hills, close attention from Ray Einberger and Keith Kenison, and 14 months of weekly hand stirring inside new oak barrels result in this rich invitation to Hotel California. Pineapple, citrus bloom, a hint of apricot, mineral and toasted oak aromas blend into flavors of apple s and more tropical fruit. Pleasing acidity gives way to a finish of butterscotch candy. Enjoy with a crab cake or try with popcorn.

Here is another fine effort from Columbia Crest that captures some spice and keeps the fruit bright and fresh. Apple and citrus flavors, sharp and tangy, run up again lots of barrel toast. The finish is loaded with baking spices and lightly touched with candied orange peel.
